How about adding some skills (probably unbalanced in PvP) to be used only in PvE.

one example would be like battle cry - shout - instill fear in adjacent enemies causing them all to flee

i'm sure there are different examples but I think this would add another layer to the kind of lacking PvE experience

SHOUT is a Barbarian D2 skill, would love to send the fear of death into hords of demons and send them scattering heh... sometimes the odds are to impossible. I'm all for PvE only skills.

Maybe a mesmer skill called DEATH: Completely drains caster of energy but deals damage x5 of energy caster had when casting spell. Required amount 25 energy, 24 sec recharge time. Uninterupted cast.

Say you have 60 energy, cast it and do 300 damage in one hit, can work on bosses and regular foe.

As an ele with a high energy storage, that coulod be a little overpowered. 500+ dmg in one hit?

Thats why I said a Mesmer skill, would go along with all the other energy and health skills they have. Makes sense to me. Cause that skill would not seem elemental does it?

I think you missed where Alatyhs was going with this... more energy on your target means more damage done to them... the 500+ damage would be what an El could possibly recieve from this spell as you posted it.

But what's to stop an E/Me using it?

It sounds more like a necro skill anyway, more like grenth's balance.
